We need open hearings on Securit

To: president@whitehouse.gov

Dear Mr. President:

We need to have serious and open hearings on our national security both on why our security and intelligence operations were not able to anticipate and prevent 9/11 and on the apparent failings that allowed you to present questionable information in your state of the union speech.

These failings are of extreme concern. We appear to be less and not more secure now. I am afraid that our efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq will not prevent a catastrophe here in the US that could be even worse than what happened in New York and Washington on 9/11. I lost colleagues in the Trade Towers. I an many of my friends have been personally affected by the financial fallout of the events of that awful day.

Please help to make us more secure by getting to the bottom of our intelligence and security problems.

Thank you,

Stephen C. Nodvin

Meeting John Kerry

On July 2, 2003 our family met John Kerry for the first time at the open house of the New Hampshire for Kerry Campaign HQ in Manchester.

On July 4, 2003 our family attended the parade in Amherst, New Hampshire. My daughters, Leah and Madelaine, met John Kerry again and rode on John’s parade float.

My daughters and I attended a campaign meeting in Nashua on July 9, 2003. My younger daughter Madelaine (9 yrs old) was able to present to Sen. Kerry a collage that she designed for him containing patriotic symbols including images of the flag, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Mt. Rushmore. Sen. Kerry took the time to speak with Madelaine, tell her how important these symbols were and how we should try to emulate the ideals they (especially the image of Lincoln) represent. This was very important to my daughters and I we much appreciated John Kerry’s comments to Madelaine.

Regarding: “CIA Got Uranium Reference Cut in Oct.”

A letter to-the-editor that I sent to the Washington Post.

Dear Editor:

Regarding the recent revelations and finger pointing on the false Niger uranium statements.

So Tenet took responsibility on Friday for NOT specifically and personally intervening to have Bush take the false information taken out of the State of the Union speech in February.

But as Walter Pincus and Mike Allen report in Sunday’s Washington Post (”CIA Got Uranium Reference Cut in Oct.”), Tenet successfully intervened to have a SIMILAR false statement removed from a presidential speech the PREVIOUS October.

I wonder if Tenet DID NOT specifically and personally intervene to have Bush take the false information taken out of the State of the Union speech in FEBRUARY BECAUSE HE ALREADY HAD specifically and personally intervened to have Bush take the same false information taken out of his speech the PREVIOUS OCTOBER!

Maybe with this President, the CIA Director should have as his TOP PRIORITY the specific duty to repeatedly remove the SAME recurring false information that appears in drafts of Mr. Bush’s speeches!
